Planning

  • Draw a bubble map/mind map of ideas for your programme
  • Use your Greek topic work to add detail to different ideas
  • Take a section each (or with a pair) to work on
  • (If you are working with a pair – don’t “chorus talk”)
  • Record as soon as you have enough for a short section

Recording

  • Record short sections (we haven’t got time for lots of takes of longer sections)
  • Just use the video (with the camera covered up) to record parts of your programme.

Backup

  1. Open the Google Drive app
  2. Login
  3.  Click the + at the bottom right – Upload – Photos and Videos
  4. Select your videos
  5. LOGOUT – click three lines (top left) – click username – Manage accounts – MANAGE – REMOVE all accounts

Next time – how to get your videos from Google Drive to iMovie

Typing warm up

  • Log onto typing.com as a student with your Google account.
  • Start on a lesson at the “stretchy edge of your comfort zone”
  • Only move on when you complete the drill:
    • RULE 1: fingers on the correct keys at all times (no floaty fingers!)
    • RULE 2: not looking at your hands 0 just look at the screen
    • RULE 3: 25WPM or quicker

Video tutorials

  1. Go to Google Classroom, arrange the success criteria in a diamond nine in order of importance but DON’T hand it in (because you can’t edit then).
  2. Choose a Computing skill that you have mastered
  3. Who is your audience: Year 5? 4? 3? A teacher?!
  4. Practice the skill a few times;
  5. Plan the
    1. demonstration – prepare any screens you will need
    2. commentary – talk to yourself!
  6. Use your video tutorial j2e page to plan; do a title
  7. Demo your skill to your partner
    1. give and receive feedback from learning partner;
    2. be resilient – act on the feedback and keep improving – GROWTH MINDSET.
  8. Try out Screencastify

Success?

  • Edit Google classroom document?
  • Reflect on tutorial success criteria?
  • Develop a fluent demonstration?
  • Give and act on useful feedback?

Next week –

How do we organise our school work in class?

What about our Computing work?  How many files have you got?  How easy is it for you to find them?  How easy is it for other people to find files?  How can we make it easier?

Success steps

  • create folders (RH click)
  • cut and paste files (RH click)
  • move files between folders
  • make sure files have clear nanes
  • delete unnecessary files and folders
  • add tags to online files
  • search in windows explorer
  • search j2e files by name, tag and type

Work through these tasks:

Your j2e files

  1. Log into j2e and open “my files”
  2. Create folders
  3. Drag files into folders (or drag them out if necessary)
  4. Tag files with useful tags
  5. Make sure files have useful names
  6. Upload files to j2e by dragging them onto “drop files here”

Your folder on the school server

  1. Click start menu, computer
  2. Open your class folder, eg “4e on Phoenix…”
  3. Open your named folder
  4. Create folders, eg Year 3, Year 4
  5. Drag files into folders
  6. To move files out of folders:
    1. select file(s);
    2. cut (ctrl-x or RH click cut);
    3. go to the folder where you want it;
    4. paste (ctrl-v or RH click paste)

If you have finished:  Find Sttickman animator and explore it….
