    5. Go back to the first Audacity file
    6. Add a new track by pressing record then stop – select and delete the bit of sound
    7. Paste the music in to the new track (Ctrl – V)

Challenges…

  1. Can you turn the volume of the music down when you are speaking?
    1. Highlight it on the music track…
  2. Can you add more speaking?
    1. Just press record and it will add another track
    2. How can you get the speaking to the correct place?
  3. Can you get rid of the spare music at the end – leave 15 seconds after the last speaking
  4. Can you fade out the last 5 seconds of music at the very end?

Last week, we made things move using animate.

This week, we are going to use a slightly different type of animating to make a title for a story – like these:

1 Think about a story you could tell.  It could be:

  1. A story you already know or have read
  2. One of my example stories in shared files
  3. A new story of your own

Create a title for your story.

2 Open JIT5 and click animate

Write your title a bit at a time – could be a letter at a time like Pandora’s box or a dot at a time like Mr W is cool.

Instead of using the GREEN plus sign you used last week, use the RED plus sign – this keeps what you have done so you add to it.

How do we organise our school work in class?

What about our Computing work?  How many files have you got?  How easy is it for you to find them?  How easy is it for other people to find files?  How can we make it easier?

Success steps

  • create folders (RH click)
  • cut and paste files (RH click)
  • move files between folders
  • make sure files have clear nanes
  • delete unnecessary files and folders
  • add tags to online files
  • search in windows explorer
  • search j2e files by name, tag and type

Work through these tasks:

Your folder on the school server

  1. Click start menu, computer
  2. Open your class folder, eg “4e on Phoenix…”
  3. Open your named folder
  4. Create folders, eg Year 3, Year 4
  5. Drag files into folders
  6. To move files out of folders:
    1. select file(s);
    2. cut (ctrl-x or RH click cut);
    3. go to the folder where you want it;
    4. paste (ctrl-v or RH click paste)

Your j2e files

  1. Log into j2e and open “my files”
  2. Create folders
  3. Drag files into folders (or drag them out if necessary)
  4. Tag files with useful tags
  5. Make sure files have useful names
  6. Upload files to j2e by dragging them onto “drop files here”

If you have finished:  Find Sttickman animator and explore it….

Your challenge today is:

  • Create, print and cut out a flag to make  bunting for the Queen’s 90th celebration tea party on Friday.
  • As a class, put the flags on a string ready for Friday afternoon.
  • Find out who is setting up for the tea party and help them put the bunting up

Resources and ideas

I have put a template (Bunting template) including a few useful images in your shared files in j2e.

Words/phrases ideas

  • Happy Birthday Ma’am
  • Happy Birthday Your Majesty
  • Phrases from the National Anthem, eg
    • God save the Queen
    • Long to reign over us
    • (See full words below)
  • 90
  • Hip hip hooray!

Images ideas

  • Union Jack
  • The Queen
  • Tea party – cups of tea, scones, balloons, cakes,…
  • Other pictures to do with the Queen or Great Britain

If you want images without backgrounds, search for png images, eg “queen elizabeth png”.  There are two png images of the Queen on the file I have shared

If you have finished, you could:

  • help put the flags on a class string
  • help someone else complete their flag
  • do another one (There could be one flag on each class string that says, eg “Oak class wish Her Majesty a very happy 90th birthday!”)

National Anthem words

1. God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen.

2.Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour,
Long may she reign.
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen.
